We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, safety, and operation of our asset fleet, tool service areas, and marshalling areas. Your work will ensure compliance with both our internal standards and client requirements while maintaining a high standard of service, quality, and adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Maintenance Technician, your role will include:
Operational Duties:
- Preparation of all field equipment relating to assigned operations
- Perform activities relating to equipment maintenance, servicing & calibration including:
- Electrical faultfinding using appropriate test equipment
- Electrical repair and replacement of parts to board level, soldering
- Electrical continuity and leakage testing of down-hole equipment
- PAT testing and record maintenance to HSE guidelines for all READ equipment
- Mechanical strip down, maintenance, repair and testing of assigned equipment
- Pressure testing of assigned equipment
- Checking quality of equipment for assigned operations
- Ensure all equipment has been properly serviced, maintained, modified and certified both mechanically and electrically in line with company procedures and client requirements
- Travel to READ and Client locations to provide repair and maintenance support to operations
- Record details of such work in the Maintenance Database
- Undertake RPS – Radiation Supervisor Protection Duties
- Fulfil administrative duties contributing to the efficient running of the department when required
Safety and Efficiency:
- Out of Hours Support:
- Provide out-of-hours maintenance and support as required for field operations
Key Outputs of the Role:
- You will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, safety and operation of the READ asset fleet, tool service areas and marshalling areas, in line with quality, safety, and legislative requirements.
- You will assist Junior Maintenance Technicians daily with any queries
Job Challenges:
- Ensure high-quality maintenance within strict timeframes
- Keep accurate records through the READ online REGIIS database
- React quickly and safely to operations priorities and multitask effectively
Physical Requirements:
- Manual handling and working at heights
- Proficiency in VDU work
- A valid driving licence
- Manual dexterity
Reporting Structure:
You will work under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor whilst continuing to communicate directly with the Logistics/Procurement teams, Operations Service Delivery Team and CEO.
Job Knowledge and Qualifications:
- Minimum HNC in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Proficient in Excel and Word
- Background in Cased Hole Maintenance essential, preferably with knowledge of Sondex tools
Competencies and Skills:
- Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of Sondex SRO and Memory logging tools, Warrior and Memlog applications, and Sentergy Ruggedised Sensors and associated software.
- Initiative: Strategic thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
- Tenacity & Determination: Self-motivated, manages pressure, and a proactive problem solver.
